Tuesday Training Centre

Training Ely Music Centres offer a range of ensemble and orchestral experiences, combined with theory and practical musicianship training, on a weekly basis in term time for players of brass, string, percussion and woodwind instruments. To get the most from the music centres, you are strongly recommended to stay for all activities.

Throughout the term, our team of tutors work with students to explore a variety of repertoire following a theme. The last session of each term culminates in a lively and enjoyable performance for parents and friends.

Music Department, Ely College, Downham Road, CB6 2SH (Needham’s Hall Entrance)
The Training Centre is an introduction to ensemble playing, offering a variety of activities to develop musicianship and ensemble playing skills. The centre runs for 10 weeks a term. We recommend players have attended at least one term of lessons (ability to play 5 notes for woodwind and brass and open strings for string instruments) up to approx. Grade 2 standard.

The cost of membership is £79 a term. We welcome new players to come along for a free taster session before signing up.

New for Sep 2024, we will be running a contemporary ensemble as part of the evening for players of guitar, drums and keyboard. Watch out for further details on our social media channels.
