The Music Nest

Music Nest @ Cambridgeshire Music

A Nurturing Music Group for Young Children with Additional Needs

Cost per session: £8
When: Mondays at 9:30am
Where: Cambridgeshire Music, Histon, CB24 9LL

Welcome to The Music Nest – a new music-based group designed especially for children aged 2–4 with additional needs. This supportive and joyful space celebrates each child’s unique strengths while helping them develop confidence, connection, and communication through music.

Each session features interactive, play-based music-making tailored to the children in the group, followed by relaxed time for families to chat, play, and share experiences together. Sessions are led by an experienced music therapist with specialist training in child development, psychology, and musicianship.

With small group sizes (3–5 children), every child receives individual attention and the opportunity to grow at their own pace. Families also gain ideas for simple music and play activities to continue at home.

Age range: 2–4 years
Group size: 3–5 children with parents or carers

The Music Nest aims to support:

- Early communication and language development

- Social interaction and shared play

- Emotional wellbeing and confidence

This pilot programme will run for two terms starting January 2026 at the Cambridgeshire Music base in Histon, with plans to expand if successful. The project is heavily subsidised, keeping the cost to families low.
