The Music Nest

Music Nest @ Cambridgeshire Music

A Nurturing Music Group for Young Children with Additional Needs and their families

Welcome to The Music Nest – a new music-based group designed especially for children aged 2–4 with additional needs and their parents or carers. This supportive group celebrates each child’s unique strengths while helping them develop confidence, connection, and communication through music.

Each session features interactive, play-based music-making tailored to the children in the group, followed by relaxed time for families to chat, play, and share experiences together.

Families who attend the group value connecting with their children through music and songs that they then use at home. The parents have noticed the different ways that their children have developed and have shared their experiences of the ups and downs of supporting their children with additional needs. Parents share what other professionals have recommended which are then incorporated into our sessions.

Sessions are led by an experienced music therapist with specialist training in child development, psychology, and musicianship.
