BE PART OF A SCI-FI MUSICAL SPECTACULAR THIS CHRISTMAS

PUBLISHED OCTOBER 2019

Sign up now for Cambridgeshire County Youth Orchestra

Plans are coming together for a truly exciting Christmas concert by the Cambridgeshire County Youth Orchestra later this year. If you are, or know, a classical musician of Grade 6 level or above, now is the time to register your interest and ensure that you don’t miss out on being part of it.

The ‘Christmas to the Stars’ concert will take place at the Cambridge Corn Exchange on Saturday, 21 December. The Orchestra will be playing the themes from some classic Sci-Fi movies and TV shows, including ‘Doctor Who’, ‘2001 A Space Odyssey’, ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Star Trek’. And as well as an opportunity to recreate these epic themes in a top professional venue, plans are afoot to add some live dramatic performances to the show, including battles between Jedi Knights and a visit from ‘real’ Daleks!

Places are currently available for musicians who have reached the required level and would like to be part of this Sci-Fi spectacular. To participate, you will need to be able to join rehearsals on 19 and 20 December, as well as the performance on 21 December. Further information about joining the Cambridgeshire County Youth Orchestra is available at: https://www.cambridgeshiremusic.org.uk/pages/discover-music/bands-and-clubs/cambridgeshire-county-youth-orchestra.html.

Tickets will be available from www.cambridgelive.org.uk later in the term.
