Programme includes new live streaming option

The programme for this academic year’s Music Live Festival features more opportunities than ever to give your pupils the opportunity to hear live music by a leading professional band or ensemble in 2020. There is also a new live streaming option for schools who cannot accommodate visits.

Music Live is an annual festival that takes place in March, run by the Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Bedford music education hubs. Schools can book a visit from professional musicians for a whole or half day, and there are opportunities for pupils to enjoy live concerts, music workshops, and play alongside visiting performers. A wide range of musical genres is represented, including classical, folk, blues, jazz and world music – to name but a few!

For the first time, the Festival will also involve live streams of four concerts for schools who want to take part but are unable to host a visit themselves. There are also discounts on offer for schools using Music Live 2020 as evidence towards their Arts Mark and those entering students for an Arts Award. And as ever, secondary schools are encouraged to host events in partnership with their local feeder primaries, so that younger pupils can get a taste of what life will be like at their next school as part of the project!
