In the first of a series of online ensemble initiatives, we are bringing together our musical community in a virtual performance of the classic theme tune – Hawaii-5-0.

With the sun shining this weekend, we can escape our current isolation and imagine being on a sun-drenched beach with the tide lapping at our feet – it’s also got a great groove!

This project is aimed at participants of our Area Music Centres (which meet in Cambridge and Ely during term time and caters for intermediate level students) but is open to everyone regardless of ability, instrument and location.

Simply download your part and guidance sheet from this dropbox link here and follow the instructions to record your own part.

We are aiming to be as inclusive as possible, so if you can’t find a part for your instrument feel free to improvise your own. Or play one of the percussion parts on whatever you have around the house - a saucepan and spoon will probably work well for the triangle part, for example!

The most important thing is that you have fun playing your part and we are really looking forward to seeing and hearing your contribution.

The closing date for Hawaii 5-0 submissions is Friday, 24 April and the final performance - consisting of everyone's performances - will be released on our social media channels on Monday, 27 April.
