MUSICNET EAST PARTNERSHIP LAUNCHES SOCIALLY AMBITIOUS 4-YEAR PROJECT

PUBLISHED JUNE 2018

Cambridgeshire Music will be playing a major part in a four-year programme to help children and young people in challenging circumstances, and their families, through music.

The Musicnet-East 'Changing Tunes' initiative is part-funded by the national children's charity, Youth Music and Cambridgeshire Music will be helping to deliver several projects across Cambridgeshire.

These will support early-years development of children from disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as older children and teenagers who are not in education, employment or training. They include a project to encourage more communication between parents and very young children through music and song, a violin-based project in nursery schools aimed at developing social and creative skills, and songwriter and music industry sessions for young people who are disengaged with school or have difficulty interacting with others.
