Learn about Baroque music and pick up new skills with guidance from leading professional musicians
String players who have reached Grade 4 and above can delve into the Baroque music of the 17th and 18th centuries with the help of a professional ensemble next month.
Cambridgeshire Music will be running two workshops for string musicians in partnership with the Brook Street Band, a critically acclaimed ensemble specialising in the music of Handel, on Saturday 8 June and Saturday 13 July at Anglia Ruskin University. Participants will have the chance to learn new skills associated with the Baroque period, try out some historic instruments from that time, and form their own Baroque chamber ensemble!
This is part of the ‘Roots’ initiative, which was launched earlier this year and is being run with a range of partners and schools around Cambridgeshire in an effort to strengthen music teaching and participation in the region. For more information and to book, visit the project page here
