CCYO has been delighting audiences for many years at performance events ranging from informal showcases to public performances in prestigious local venues including West Road Concert Hall and the Cambridge Corn Exchange. In recent years, the orchestra has enjoyed working with international soloists and conductors as well as tutors drawn from national orchestras, Cambridgeshire Music and the local teaching network.
If you are a classical musician of Grade 6 level and above this is the orchestra to aspire to be a member of. Students who are working towards Grade 6 may be accepted into the orchestra on the recommendation of their teacher.

All your favourite Movie and TV Sci-Fi themes including Dr. Who, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Star Wars, Star Trek.
Spring & Summer Terms
This year is the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth and the 75th anniversary of the death of Mascagni. To celebrate, CCYO will be rehearsing and performing Beethoven’s Egmont Overture and Mascagni’s Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana alongside Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, a symphonic suite based on the story of ‘One Thousand and One Nights’. The wind and brass will also be working on an arrangement for Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor.
