CAMBRIDGESHIRE YOUTH HARP ENSEMBLE

2018/2019 Dates

CYHE was formed in 2016 to provide an opportunity for young harpists in the county to take part in advanced level ensemble work. The ensemble is aimed at pedal harpists of Grade VI and about standard, and members are also able to take membership with and perform with the County Youth Orchestra.

Repertoire so far has included Venezolana by Alfredo Rolando Ortiz as their inaugural performance, and a wide range of duets, trios, quartet and quintet arrangements in their second performance in 2018. Repertoire for 2018-19 season may include a quartet arrangement of Debussy’s Petite Suite and Children’s Hour Suite, as well as repertoire specially arranged for the current ensemble.
Cambridgeshire Music provides a performance opportunity in the summer of each year, and the ensemble is currently exploring if it would like to apply to perform at the World Harp congress in Cardiff in 2020.

If you are interested in becoming a member of this ensemble, please contact Cambridgeshire Music in the first instance to enquire about suitability, as the repertoire covered is unfortunately currently only suitable for pedal harp.
