CAMBRIDGESHIRE YOUTH BRASS ENSEMBLE

Develop skills with supportive specialist training

This year the County Youth Brass Ensemble will be exploring big operatic and orchestral repertoire, exploring the enduring power of these themes that have transcended from opera and musical - theatre into popular culture.

There will be elements of Broadway, such as Hello, Dolly! and some cultural nods to the US deep south. Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition will form an orchestral tie in alongside Sibelius’ Finlandia, and one of Richard Wagner’s most epic themes – Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral from the opera Lohengrin will complete this set.

CYBE will also be dedicating time to well-known melodies that have been rearranged into a new fun and dynamic styles such as Just a Closer Walk. Look out for whole new takes on Green Sleeves and Singin’ in the Rain.
