CAMBRIDGESHIRE YOUTH JAZZ ORCHESTRA

Develop skills with supportive specialist training

Cambridgeshire Youth Jazz Orchestra (CYJO) is an ensemble performing jazz and other styles of creative and modern music.

Each course will feature a different Guest Artist, be focused on a specific musical theme and culminate in a public performance.

Previous guest tutors include Tiago Coimbra (Maceo Parker), Joshua Blackmore (Bill Laurence) and Scott Stroman (Billy Cobham). Previous performances include We Out Here Festival, Anglesey Winter Lights and Cambridge Jazz Festival.

‘The Year that Changed Jazz’
CYJO will be playing music from some of jazz’s most ground-breaking albums, all released in
the ‘Year that changed Jazz’, including works by Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Art Blakey, Sun-
Ra, Duke Ellington and Charles Mingus.

This will culminate in a public performance at Cambridge Jazz and Brass in the Park,
