FOR: Primary and secondary schools EYFS to KS4
DATES: March 2018
Cambridgeshire Music Live is an exciting annual festival of events, that gives young people a taste of world-class music up close – players from top orchestras and bands come into schools and venues across the county to give concerts, run workshops and play alongside young musicians.
For the 2018 Cambridgeshire Music Live Festival, there will be a wide range of musical genres on offer, including brass, classical, early, rock, pop and world music. Festival regulars, Britten Sinfonia, Goldfield Ensemble, Grand Union Orchestra and Industry Education in Music will be joined by Brass Funkeys, Blues and Roots Ensemble, Brook Street Band, Demon Barbers (Breaking Tradition) and Travelling by Tuba.
We encourage all schools to book both a workshop and a concert for children to benefit from the full experience.
As well as a huge Songwriter Celebration linking with IEM at Cambridge Junction on Sunday 11 March there will be a day of World Jazz at Sir Harry Smith Community College with the Grand Union Orchestra on Saturday 17 March .
Concerts and workshops are targeted for specific key stages, ranging from Early Years Foundation Stage to Key Stage 4. Workshops are tailored to suit individual schools or clusters of schools, and can encompass other artforms. Workshops can also support students to achieve Arts Award Discover.
Schools are being asked for a single all-in contribution to costs:
£75 per workshop
£100 concert only
£150 workshop and concert
£150 IEM workshop day
Special rates may apply for large cluster bookings
